The Department of English at Kinnaird College for Women hosted a dignified book launch ceremony for “Building Bridges Beyond Borders: The Brilliance of Pakistan,” bringing together leading figures from academic, literary, and social circles.
Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora attended as chief guest and emphasized that literature plays a powerful role in connecting societies and encouraging constructive dialogue among diverse communities. He described Pakistan as a vibrant blend of religions, cultures, and languages, calling diversity one of the country’s greatest strengths.
He noted that academic and literary initiatives help promote interfaith harmony, tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect while projecting a positive image of Pakistan internationally. Appreciating the authors, he said the book presents Pakistan’s human values, talent, resilience, and shared humanity in an inspiring way.
Arora added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government is taking practical steps to safeguard minority rights and strengthen social cohesion. He said such platforms reinforce unity, peace, and brotherhood in society.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Irum Anjum, Christophe de Contenson, Abdul Karim, Dr. Waseem, Ms. Satwant Kaur, Dr. Anum Hayat, Ms. Mary James Gill, and Bishop Emeritus Dr. Alexander John Malik, along with faculty members and students, who termed the book an important contribution to intercultural dialogue.
